We spent the whole 2nd day at Hong Kong Disneyland and stayed onsite at the Disneyland Hotel (their version of Disneyworld’s Grand Floridian). The hotel was beautiful and super convenient to the park. We had breakfast with the characters in the mornings and that was super festive. Mia also did the Bibiddy Bobbity Boutique which was right inside our hotel. She loved every single second of that experience and it was fun to see her so excited to get all princessed-out as Cinderella. There was also about a 20 minute photo shoot after the hair and makeup were done, good thing she’s a natural ham J
Princess Mia was a huge hit at the Park. I’m not sure if people thought she was an actual Disney character, but she drew crowds everywhere she went! I’m not even kidding, she probably had her picture taken 500 times. Lots took them discretely, others asked for a photo op with her, families, couples, kids, etc! As the only non-Asian girl in the whole park, dressed up like a princess, she was a show stopper :)
Hong Kong Disney really small compared to the Disney's of the US. It was perfect for us and in 1 full day, you can really hit a lot of the park. It also was not as busy as it probably would have been on a dry day. But the drizzle and cooler temps actually made for an easy day. The park had all of the traditional Disney rides like Dumbo, Tea Cups, It’s a Small World, etc. Perfect for kids our age.
Mia and I even did Space Mountain. I remember doing it as a child and I love a good roller coaster, so convinced her to go on it with me (as she surprisingly met the height requirements). Let’s just say, bad idea!! Forgot how fast and scary it was in the dark. We had our heads in our laps and screamed the whole time! She was a trooper and we were all proud of how brave she was!! Just hoping the experience didn’t scar her for life ;)
In all, it was a great first run at Disney!
