Cambodia Trip Part 2: The floating village

Here are some pics of city life and country life in and around Siem Reap.  Also, pics from our trip to the floating village.  It's an entire town that floats on the largest lake in SE Asia.  Quite fascinating to see these people's way of life!

A much needed dip - it was HOT!

Journey's Within main house

Siem Reap is the busiest small city you've ever seen!!

Sam was obsessed - Batman tuk tuk

That's a family of 4 on a motorbike - no helmets on the kids of course :)

Dinner at another Training Restaurant called Genevieve's - run by an Australian guy

Yum, more chicken amok!

The singing waiter - what a sweet & humble guy, with a great gift!

Out for ice cream!

Driving out to the largest lake in SE Asia

It is the dry season now, but during the wet season, water will be up to the houses, that's why they are built on stilts and these houses are no where near the water!

A US donated health center

Made it to the very brown lake ;) Wouldn't want to step foot in it!

Heading out on the boat to the floating village

Some kids in a boat that was taking on water

The floating village

The floating church

The floating school

So cute, a mom washing dishes & her baby

The croc's - I guess hundreds of thousands of these are caught in this lake every year!

Lots of kids out fishing with sticks
