Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you all have a fun and happy Valentine's Day!  This "Hallmark" holiday gets passed over here in Singapore, aside from the few restaurants serving a Valentine's set meal, mainly for the expats.  It is still technically Chinese New Year, so isn't as celebrated as other western holidays are.

The kids' school does not even celebrate Vday, as they only focus on the big multi-cultural holidays and with only 30% of the school being American, most wouldn't even know what it is!!  They were however allowed to bring in valentine cards to share with their classmates today.  And, I'm assuming that only the handful of American students in each of their classes will participate.

Nate has been in South Africa and India all week.  It's a long trip, which has freed up time for me to start surfing Pinterest again!  It had been awhile!!  I found these super cute fortune cookie valentine's and thought it was so appropriate for Valentine's day in Asia!

While folding my paper cookies, I began to think about how I have actually never seen a fortune cookie here.  And with most Singaporeans being Chinese, I thought that odd.  Sure enough, after googling "fortune cookies" I learned that they were invented in the US and can't even be found in China!!!  So much for my cute little link between Vday and Asia, but oh well, they turned out cute anyway!!

Sending you all lots of Love & Good Fortune from Singapore!!!  xo
