We chose to stay in Nusa Dua, a resort enclave, in southeast Bali. Since the bombings in Bali about 10 years ago, the beach area has become super secure. Nusa Dua in particular is gated and each hotel has security checks for cars coming into the property. It's a little odd, but I guess it was their answer in getting tourists back to the island.
The beaches were great, the water was clear and the weather hot and sunny. We were lazy, didn't really leave the resort except for a bike ride on a path that connects all of the Nusa Dua hotels. The kids loved spending time in the sand and surf, as well as the huge hotel pools!
All in all, a great trip to paradise!
Traditional Balinese dancers welcomed us at our resort
